Students are the most important assets of any educational institutions and some time they develop emotional, social and other problems which may lead to lose their confidence and thereby they fail to concentrate on their academics and extra-curricular activities. These academic, administrative, mental, psychological, social, emotional and behavioral problems will have negative impact on their overall performance. Therefore, in such a difficult time, the counseling committee is there to provide them emotional and other supports.
Counseling is the process of giving advice and support to students to help them in resolving their problems so that they can overcome their lost confidence and self-respect and start focusing on their academics and extra-curricular activities. The counseling services cover all undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students of JUIT.
With the primary intent of helping students to resolve their problem issues, Student Counseling Committee has been working in JUIT since 2018. Students will be given proper guidance on how to deal with different problems related with their emotional conflicts which can badly impact their studies. Through these sessions, the students will be able to develop certain problem-solving skills which to an extent help them deal with particular issues of theirs.
By promoting mental health awareness and encouraging open conversations, the committee reduces the stigma associated with seeking psychological help and fosters a culture of acceptance and understanding on campus. Professional counseling equips students with effective coping mechanisms, emotional regulation skills, and resilience strategies, enabling them to maintain a healthy balance between academic demands and personal life. Ultimately, it enhances students’ emotional well-being, self-confidence, and psychological growth, contributing to a positive and mentally healthy learning environment.
If any student wishes to seek help or guidance from the Student Counseling Committee, they can easily reach out while maintaining complete confidentiality. Students may drop their request in the DROP BOX placed outside the Learning Resource Centre (LRC), where they can briefly mention their concern and preferred mode of communication without disclosing personal details if they wish to remain anonymous. Alternatively, students can also connect with the committee by sending an email to “counseling@juitsolan.in”, where their queries and concerns will be handled with utmost care and privacy. The counseling committee is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to help students manage academic stress, personal challenges, and mental health concerns, ensuring their overall well-being and positive growth.
