Department of CSE and IT organized a workshop on IBM Watson Internet Of Things (IOT) in collaboration with Persistent Systems Ltd. and ACM-JUIT. The workshop continued for 2 days i.e. 21st-22nd November, 2016. It was conducted by Mr. Amol Kulkarni(Senior Technical Evangelist), Mr. Ajay Kumar and Mr. Sanket Bhalerao from persistent systems ltd. in coordination with Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh (Assistant Prof,Sr. Grade).

The aim of the workshop was to serve researchers, developers, educators working in the area of DevOps, Cognitive computing, control of devices and their applications to present and future work as well as to exchange ideas.

IOT Watson enabled students to rapidly build, deploy, and manage few cloud applications on Bluemix which is an implementation of IBM's Open Cloud Architecture, leveraging Cloud Foundry. Students were also introduced to a growing ecosystem of available services and runtime frameworks.

The workshop focused and featured intellect speakers, recipes and poster sessions on the Cloud Foundry, Open Stack, MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport), Open Whisk and their applications.

Workshop provided complete Learning System on Bluemix where the students can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and applications’ recipes.
Teaching in the workshop was made more effective and realistic by conducting Bluemix essentials Quiz at the end of the workshop.

Approximately 90 students passed the assessment. Amidst the regular schedule of college, the students were filled with extra enthusiasm to get hands-on experience. The feedback given by the students was quite appreciable.
