Department of Physics & Materials Science has excelled in fields of state-of-art teaching and research since the inception of this University. Apart from the regular curricula support for the ongoing B.Tech. programs and Ph.D., the department is also involved in expanding its teaching support for M.Sc. programme. The syllabi of the M.Sc. program is so designed which will cater the need to compete state and national level test at ease(e.g. NET, GATE, etc.). In addition, the most eligible students will also be encouraged to do Ph.D. in Department of Physics & Materials Science with financial support from the University.
The award of the Ph.D. degree is in recognition of high academic achievements demonstrated by independent research and application of knowledge to the solution of technical and scientific problems. Creative and productive inquiry is the basic requirement underlying research work. The academic program leading to the degree involves fulfilling course credit requirements, residential requirements and a thesis giving a critical account of the research carried out, in any of the areas listed below.
