About the Symposium

Biomedical image processing has experienced remarkable expansion including its application in healthcare system. High quality information available in imaging modalities can be processed and analyzed for disease diagnosis, treatment and management. Diseases are generally associated with certain characteristic patterns of image modalities, which are used for its detection. Therefore, computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) for different diseases is developed to provide assistance not only for better diagnosis but also for early diagnosis. Therefore, this symposium focuses on the applications and implementation of image acquisition, processing and analysis for efficient disease diagnosis.

Objectives of the Symposium

Some of the key objectives of this Symposium are:

1. Effective analysis of currently available high quality medical images for efficient diagnosis of diseases such as TB, cancer, diabetic retinopathy, tumour etc.

2. Application of image acquisition and processing for early diagnosis of diseases.

3. Image processing can facilitate the adoption of cost-effective techniques for disease diagnosis.

4. To explore the Computer Added Diagnosis (CAD) techniques to imporve the effectiveness of the Liver ultra sonography
