About JUIT

The Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) was established in 2002 following a joint initiative of the Government of Himachal Pradesh and the Founder Chairman of the Jaypee Group, Shri Jai Prakash Gaur. The State Government provided land on lease, and the university was constituted under Act No. 14 of 2002, as notified in the Extraordinary Gazette dated May 23, 2002. JUIT received approval from the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act in December 2002 and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Academic activities at JUIT began in July 2002.

JUIT currently offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. B.Tech. programs are available in disciplines including Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, and Information Technology. The university also offers M.Tech. programs with various specializations, along with BBA, B.Sc. Mathematics, and M.Sc. programs in Physics, Biotechnology, and Microbiology. Ph.D. programs are offered across multiple fields such as Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Material Science.
