The JUIT Alumni Cell organized a talk by Mr. Aditya Kumar Singh an alumnus of the 2011 batch who has 10+ year experience in the IT industry with the last 7 being in healthcare domain. He is Currently based out of Bengaluru Working in Firefly Health, a US based healthcare Startup. He is the Director of Engineering of Firefly Health India. In the past he has also worked with Athenahealth and Accenture. The event took place virtually on 22nd Jan, at 11 a.m. on Google Meet platform.

The event started off with a few words from our Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, followed by Secretary Alumni Cell Mr. Achyut Tiwari introducing Mr. Aditya Kumar Singh, followed by Dr. Saurabh Bansal who welcomed our prestigious alumnus Mr. Aditya, as well as thanked the other HOD’s and the audience for their presence and introduced the Alumni Cell to them.

 Mr. Aditya Kumar Singh heartily thanked every faculty member for their blessings and wishes. He extended his greetings to everyone present in the meeting and started by sharing the experience of his inspiring journey, which has spanned over a decade. 

He started off by recalling his time from Accenture where he was part of the team that build a software to keep and manage the scheduling of ships delivering the products which took almost 2 and a half years. This software was then deployed for a company in Singapore, ranked 2nd in the world for ocean cargo industry.

After gaining this invaluable experience and knowledge of seeing and building a product from scratch, he went to work for Athenahealth. He explains that, it was merely a switch from a service-based industry to a product-based industry.

He further explains the difference between Indian and American healthcare companies. He worked on a product there, which essentially helped get doctors get paid faster, by checking the cause and minimizing the rejection of claims by the patients. Soon, he moved to their clinical department, where he worked on the software that the doctors used and further emphasized and explained the digitalization of healthcare in the USA. 

He then stressed on the importance of learning new languages like node JS and java. Then he talked about the rise of data science and its functions as well as it’s different aspects and uses in health care.

He also advised the students to take up internships as they are important for gaining invaluable knowledge as well as experience in the field. He also stated out the importance of participating on platforms such as HackerRank and Github as it will help the students during their interviews.

Lastly, he concluded by answering the questions and doubts put up by the students and well as by the faculty members.

Mr. Samyak Handa, who is a graduate from 2015 batch, then asked him a question regarding the same, that it is indeed very difficult to find good internships which provide hands on experience to students, further they only do so if the students are exceptional in nature. So what should be done in regards to this. Which he tackled by saying that, students must look for startups that would help them and integrate them in main projects as well as be able to pay them simultaneously.

Several questions followed, and he answered them using the wisdom his experience and also with brief yet detailed explanations. 

And finally concluded by thanking everyone who was present there and further, the Department Representative of BI/BT Branch Miss. Vinamarata, thanked Mr. Aditya for his gracious presence and rich words of wisdom, on behalf of the alumni cell, as well as expressed gratitude towards Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharma & HoD CSE Prof. Sehgal along with all the faculty members that were present in the meet. 

The JUIT Alumni Cell organized a talk with Mr. Saurabh Sud, an Information Security professional, currently working as Manager- Cyber Security at KPMG, Germany. He is an alumnus of the 2008 batch and has a master’s degree in Communications Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. The event took place virtually on 13th November, 2021 at 3:00 p.m on the Google Meet platform and was joined by almost a hundred people.

With a very warm welcome by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma & Faculty Incharge of Alumni Cell Dr. Saurabh Bansal the event commenced. Everyone congratulated our alumnus Mr Saurabh for his accomplishments. 

Mr. Saurabh had prepared a presentation on "Cyber security" which proved to be very helpful as it cleared almost all our doubts regarding the topic. 

He started up with how hackers and cybercriminals use the internet as a tool to spread malware and carry out cyber-attacks and in what ways this pandemic has led to a rapid increase in cybercrimes. Many multinational companies have been attacked which led to a breach of trust between the customers and the management.

His slides covered important topics like:

• Viruses and their capability to corrupt files and steal private information like credit card details of the user and send them back to the hacker.

• The next topic that came up was “Identity Theft” which is a type of cybersecurity threat that involves the stealing of personal information of the victims from social media websites such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. and using that info to build a picture of the victims. He warned us that if sufficient sensitive information is gathered it could allow the cybercriminal to pretend to be you in some way. In some cases, hackers may steal the bank details of the victims and use it for their personal use.

• Next, he explained ransomware which unlike all other types of cyber-attacks, notifies the victim about the exploit, and it also gives instructions on how to recover from it.

• He explained the severity of cyber-attacks by describing an event where a hospital was attacked by some hackers. It proved to be fatal as one person lost his life.

After the concluding slide, many questions were asked by students regarding cyber security like why advertisements of products similar to what we looked for online on different apps and Google pop up as stories on my Instagram account and if he ever faced a situation where he had to act very quickly to mitigate a threat.

The VC sir actively took part in the interaction and asked questions like which programming languages must be added to the course which can turn out to be more beneficial to students.

The event was stimulating and enjoyable and simultaneously profitable as sir shared his views and good numbers of new ideas, information and insights came up. 

The JUIT Alumni Cell organized a talk by Mr. Sandeep Rajoriya an alumnus of  the 2015 batch who recently cleared UPSC with AIR - 290 in UPSC CSE 2020 and was recently felicitated by the Chief Minister and the Education Minister of  Madhya Pradesh for his achievement. The event took place virtually on 23rd  October, 2021 at 11 a.m. on Google Meet platform. 

The Alumni Talk started on a very high note. The event was successful enough  to attract more than 180 participants. 

Dr. Tanu Sharma and Dr. Saurabh Bansal introduced Mr. Sandeep Rajoriya to  the audience. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, esteemed  advisor Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar and Dr. Saurabh Bansal welcomed our  prestigious alumnus Mr. Sandeep and also introduced the Alumni Cell to the  audience. 

The Alumni Talk started with the inaugural speech of Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra  Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of JUIT. In his speech, he congratulated Mr.  Sandeep on his achievements. He advised the students to focus and pay  attention to the task they are carrying on in their present whether it's sports or  education. He also quoted how success comes with hard work. He told the  students how he prepared and attempted the UPSC exam twice. He explained to

students how hard work can change their ordinary lives into extraordinary lives.  His overall speech encapsulated hard work, focus, and determination. 

Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar took a moment and congratulated Mr. Sandeep. Dr.  Rajiv Kumar, HOD of the Electronics and Communication Department further  congratulated him on the behalf of the Department. 

Then Dr. Rakesh Kumar Bajaj congratulated him and encouraged the students  with his inspiring words. He blessed Mr. Sandeep with strength, tolerance, and  prosperity. 

Mr. Sandeep Rajoriya heartily thanked every faculty member for their blessings  and wishes. He extended his greetings to everyone present in the meeting and  started by sharing the experience of his inspiring UPSC journey from  Preparation to Performance. He started by sharing his hostel life and University  life experiences, for example how he used to enjoy the beautiful sunset and  sunrise. 

In his third year of engineering, while working on a few University projects, he  acquired a strong interest in Civil Services, and instead of pursuing a traditional  campus placement, he began preparing for his UPSC journey. 

He explained how University became a turning point in his life. He taught about  clarity of thoughts and how one has to be alive and secondly clear about their  thoughts. He explained how a multidimensional attitude towards your goals is  important and being an engineer, one should not only have technical skills but  also incorporate social skills. He faced a lot of failures during his preparations  and told the students about the importance of luck which plays after their hard  work. He then gave tips to students on how they can overcome these failures  and encouraged them to push their boundaries to achieve the best. The event was made even more fun and interesting when the audience was  interacting with Mr. Sandeep. He answered all the queries with full enthusiasm.  In the end, he thanked the faculty members and the JAC Team for inviting him  to address the students and share his journey. Dr. Saurabh Bansal also thanked  the organizing team for their efforts. 

The JAC team feels proud to organize such a successful event and we are very  thankful to all the faculty members including Dr. Anupriya Kaur & Dr. Amit  Srivastava for gracing this event and giving everyone their blessings.

The JUIT Alumni Cell organized a webinar by Mr. Anuj Sharma, an alumnus of the 2015 batch, on the topic “Technologies that Industry is drooling over post covid”. Mr. Anuj Sharma, Founder of the Himalayan Company is a TEDx speaker who offers his expertise in his field. Award winning entrepreneur Anuj Sharma's ‘Local Guide’ has proven to be a valuable travel resource for many tourists.The event took place virtually on 21st August 2021 at 12 noon on the Google Meet platform with over 70+ participants. Anuj Sharma's presentation offered an educational session on the many trending career options accessible in today's market post-covid era, as well as technologies and domains that are revolutionizing. He addressed a variety of subjects related to contemporary technological advancements and acquainted the audience with them. He highlighted the possibilities of Web technology, which is utilized by many individuals not just for learning purposes, but also by about 20% of people to display their ability and expression via their creations. He claims that the availability of talented Web Engineers is extremely distinctive in the industry these days because many individuals don't have the overall understanding. Using the expertise, web tech is utilized to build mobile applications and websites for various purposes.

He also provided an overview of Artificial Intelligence, which is widely used by all machinery when making a judgment on its own. The utilization of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality is being requested by companies these Alumni Cell, Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, Solan. days to cater to better and more effective understanding and learning interactions. The blockchain has caused a paradigmatic change in the market since it is the foundation on which the popular cryptocurrency is based, but it is also being used to develop smart contracts, and many major economic transactions are securely completed with the help of blockchain.

He explains how FinTech has brought about change since many individuals are interested in the equity markets. He also addressed that NFT (Non-Fungible Technology) has created a future market. Not only that, but he discusses how EdTech has shown to be a helpful platform for skill enhancement, training programs, visual studies, and e-learning in recent years, as remote education has become the new phase for inexpensive and engaging learning.

The webinar was then followed up by an interactive session with Mr. Anujanswered the questions of the students regarding marketing strategies, company development, time management, monetary management, capital building, and how to reach out to people after starting a business or firm.

The event took place virtually on 20th August 2021 on the Google Meet platform. The webinar took place virtually on 17th April 2021 on the Google Meet platform with an audience of 80+ participants. "It is a very important aspect, you need to empower yourself constantly, particularly if you are thinking about entrepreneurship", says Shivam Gupta. Mr. Shivam, a self and purpose-driven individual, is greatly inspired by Steve Jobs. With the desire to make a difference in the upcoming Tech fields, he started Volumetree 4 years back and now has a team of more than 60. He helped companies to start from scratch to be a multi-million venture in just 4 years. Volumetree has a footprint in more than 10 countries.
