Shimla, located on the foothills of the Himalayas was the summer capital of India during British period. It is a beautiful city rich in history and architecture. It has become the business, cultural, political and scientific heart of Himachal Pradesh, a northern state of India. Shimla, located at an average altitude of 2400 meters (7900 feet) above sea level is often referred to as the Queen of Hill Stations in India. Average temperatures in September range between 10 – 20 degrees Celcius (50-70 F)
