Biography :

Dr. Prateek Thakral is currently working as Assistant Professor (Grade-II) in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Jaypee University of Information Technology, Solan (Himachal Pradesh). He did B. Tech in Information Technology and M. Tech in Computer Engineering from Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra in 2010 and 2013 respectively. He has completed his Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering from JUIT-Waknaghat in 2026. He is having more than 13 years of rich teaching experience along with 25+ publications in various reputed book chapters, journals & international conferences. Before joining JUIT, he worked as Assistant Professor (on contract) at NIT Kurukshetra for around 4 years. He has qualified GATE 2016 Exam as well as UGC-NET Exam twice in year 2017 and 2018. His teaching interests include core computer science courses such as Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Python Programming, Data Structures, Data Mining and many more.
Dr. Thakral served as a TPC member as well as reviewer for various international conferences like Machine Intelligence & Signal processing (MISP-2021), Advanced Network Technologies and Intelligent Computing (ANTIC-2023 & ANTIC-2024), Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC-2022 & PDGC-2024) and Image Information processing (ICIIP-2025). He has actively participated in numerous workshops, short-term-courses and faculty development programs (FDPs) of national and international repute organized by various IITs, NITs, IIITs, and various other government institutes. His research interests include machine learning, data clustering, meta-heuristic algorithms, cyber security, and many more.
