About Us

JUIT Centre for Women's Studies was established at JUIT Waknaghat in 2010 with blessings of Honorable COO, Jaypee Education System, Dr. Y. Medury who has always been a source of inspiration with firm belief in gender equity. The Centre has been sponsored by Jaypee Education System.

Our humble endeavor is to work for the cause of women. The activities of our vibrant Centre for Women Studies are geared towards mainstreaming women in holistic perspectives of development wherein we make efforts to address gender concerns through interventions of varied nature.

The shimmering visibility of Indian women is evident in Contemporary India in many ways yet there are variables that stain the status of women in the male dominated patriarchal framework.

We, at JUIT centre for Women Studies are working painstakingly towards women empowerment including promoting women’s right, women’s health, education, socio-economic emancipation and community activism with an interdisciplinary approach. The Centre undertakes research studies, organizes Workshops, training programs and extension activities addressing the unique needs of women and their families in and around Waknaghat.

We express our gratitude to Hon’ble COO, JES - Dr. Y. Medury ; Vice Chancellor Prof. Ravi Prakash; Director Brig. (Retd.) Balbir Singh and Dean (A&R) Prof. T. S. Lamba for their constant encouragement and support.
