JUIT Waknaghat is midway between Shimla & Solan . Shimla is 24 Kms from the campus. Kalka is the nearest broadgauge railway station. Waknaghat is very well connected with buses from Delhi, UP, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Chandigarh/Kalka.

Waknaghat is 24 kms. from Solan on the way to Shimla on NH-22. For coming to JUIT, one has to take a left turn at Waknaghat and drive for 3 kms. From JUIT, Shimla is 24 kms. The location is at a height of 1550 m above MSL.

TEMPERATURE - Max. 35°C Min. - 2°C

CLOTHING: Cotton clothes in Summer and light woolen to woolen in winter.

LANGUAGE: Hindi, English ,Punjabi are understood and spoken by the people

Facilities at JUIT

The infrastructure development of our university has been a continuous process. Our focus has been on simultaneous growth of both the basic needs like lecture theatre ,classrooms, laboratories, drawing halls, workshops and library, conference hall, etc. for academic activities on one hand and student support facilities like hostels, canteen, stationery shop, telephone kiosks, medical support, transport, bank ,students activity center etc. on the other hand. The development of the institute has been planned in a phased manner so that the required facilities become available well before the need arises. Recent additions have been a modern lecture theater with seating capacity of 240 students , it is fully equipped with modern projector & sound system
