to Reach JUIT
Jaypee University of Information
Technology is located near Shimla (24 Km) just 3 Km off the NH22 (Delhi-Ambala-Kalka-Waknaghat-Shimla
road).
Convenient airports are Shimla (30 Km), Chandigarh (100 Km), New Delhi
(350 Km) and Amritsar (350 Km).
All buses from Delhi, Chandigarh (ISBT, Sec 43) and other places to Shimla
drop and pick passengers from Waknaghat.
Direct trains from Delhi and other places are available upto Kalka (70
Km). After that one can hire taxi or board a bus to Waknaghat.
One can also choose to travel by
Kalka-Shimla Heritage Toy Train up to Kandaghat (12 Km from JUIT).
For international attendees:
After arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, one may go for any of following options:
(1) Hire a taxi from Delhi airport to JUIT, Waknaghat, District Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
(2) Hire a taxi from Delhi airport to New Delhi railway station and board Delhi - Kalka Shatabdi trains with prior booking . Advance train booking can be done online through www.irctc.co.in. (Train Timings: 7:40 A.M. and 5:15 P.M.)
(3) If flying to Chandigarh/ Shimla, please note that the international terminals at the Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport are different from the Domestic terminals. International attendees are requested to proceed to free shuttle bus service offered by the airport that transfers travelers to-and-from the domestic terminal [ after their IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOM CLEARANCE PROCESS] They may inquire about the shuttle service inside the terminal itself. Also if the shuttle service is inconvenient they can take a prepaid taxi (the official taxi stand is outside, which will take record of the taxi number and destination it is going to. The taxi fare should be around INR 200/- (or approximately US $ 4-5) to transport passengers from the international terminal to domestic terminal (the two are approximately 6 km apart). The shuttle service is quite frequent thus taxi should be taken only in case of urgency.
