Wireless Channel Estimation and Prediction, Adaptive Transmission Techniques.
Adaptive transmission provides reliable and spectrally efficient transmission over the time varying channels. The basic requirement of adaptive transmission is knowledge of the channel state at the receiver, which is feedback to the transmitter. The channel estimate at the receiver is done using ML estimation and by using these ML estimates, MAP prediction of channel is obtained. Channel state prediction is by PSAM technique which is later updated to Adaptive PSAM (APSAM) technique. Then, MAP prediction of channel used to predict channel state information (CSI) i.e., channel signal to noise ratio (CSNR). This CSI is used to find the transmission scheme by which transmitter can be adapted to the variations in the channel.
