Biography :

P. B. Barman was born in Bhilai(C.G.), India in March 1963. He received M.Sc. degree in Physics from Ravishankar University, Raipur, India in 1986. He received Ph.D degree in Physics (Materials Science) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur/Jadavpur University,, India in 1993. He is with Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat since August 2005. Currently he is Professor and Head in Department of Physics and Materials Science. His research areas include Bulk crystal growth of III-V compound semiconductors and Chalcogenide glasses, Thin film growth, Oxidation studies of III-V compound semiconductors, Device fabrication and characterization, Chalcogenide glasses; bulk, films and nano films, Nano hexa-ferrites, etc.
Postdoc from Microelectronics Centre, IIT Kharagpur and Materials Science and Engineering, Arizona State University, USA. Visiting Faculty at Multimedia University, Malaysia
Presently he is also holding General Secretary portfolio of MRSI, Himachal Chapter.
